ARX Robotics and ROBONEERS Connect Gereon UGV to SABER

The defence start-up ARX Robotics and the Ukrainian defence-tech specialist Roboneers have announced the successful integration tests of the modular, remotely controlled weapon station SABER on the unmanned ground vehicle Gereon. According to ARX Robotics, this technological partnership is based on an agreement that was signed during the state visit of Chancellor Friedrich Merz in the presence of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on October 4, 2026 in Kyiv.

The goal of both companies is to provide the first integrated systems in the specific weapon configurations M2 as well as MK 19 (M) by the end of 2026. Deliveries will be made directly according to the operational directives and needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, to enhance the protection of soldiers on the front lines and to meet the requirements of modern combat operations.

Gereon UGV by ARX Robotics in Ukraine Deployment

According to ARX, the integration of the two systems yields a highly advanced and extremely flexible overall package. While the Gereon platform from ARX Robotics provides the necessary mobility, reliable power supply, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) elements, the SABER module from Roboneers supplies the required tactical fire support.

The modular Gereon vehicle already forms today the largest networked UGV fleet of a Western supplier in the Ukraine mission. It can be adapted for a wide range of tasks, spanning supply logistics, evacuation of the wounded, electronic warfare, and drone defense. Through active deployment under real combat conditions, valuable insights continuously feed directly into the further development of the next generation of the system.

SABER Remote-Controlled Weapons Station Seamlessly Integrated

The SABER combat module complements these capabilities as a remotely operated weapons station capable of mounting a wide range of armaments, from assault rifles to grenade launchers. According to Maximilian Wied, CFO and co-founder of ARX Robotics, modern battles require high adaptability, speed, and seamless integration of new technologies. Anton Skrypnyk, CEO of Roboneers, emphasizes that the SABER module always adapts to the operational needs of the units and not the other way around.

Cooperation in the ARX Industries Joint Venture

The deeper cooperation fits into the expanded partnership of both companies: With the already established joint venture ARX Industries, the partners plan the massive expansion of production capacities for the unmanned ground vehicle Rys Pro, with in the first year already a four-figure quantity to be manufactured in Germany and Ukraine.
