Chancellor Friedrich Merz will once again assume the patronage of Enforce Tac. This was announced by NürnbergMesse GmbH on Monday. Against the backdrop of growing security-political challenges, this underscores the event’s importance as Germany’s central platform for security and defense capability.
The flagship trade fair for security and defense will take place from March 1 to 3, 2027 at the Nürnberg Exhibition Centre in Bavaria. Since 2012, the event has brought together decision-makers from politics, security authorities, the armed forces, industry, and research, and has actively reflected Europe’s security-political developments. In doing so, Enforce Tac, according to its concept, created a protected framework for professional dialogue, cooperation, and networking.
Security Integrated and Cross-Sector Thinking
“The security situation in Europe and in the world calls for close cooperation among our allies, technological innovation, and a resilient security architecture. Enforce Tac brings together those actors who bear responsibility for the defense capability of our country and that of our partners. Therefore, I am pleased to once again assume the patronage,” explains Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
Under the guiding theme “Integrated Security for a Resilient Europe,” Enforce Tac 2027, according to the press release, focuses on current challenges facing security authorities, the armed forces, and the industry, just as it does on questions of technological sovereignty, industrial supply security, and common action capabilities. Central to it is the insight that security must be conceived and designed in an integrated manner along the entire security-relevant value chain. Enforce Tac sees itself as a laboratory for the future and a platform for innovations—and at the same time as a place for strategic networking.
Bavaria as an Established Hub for Security Dialogue
According to NürnbergMesse GmbH, Bavaria, with its capable security and defense industry and a strong research and innovation landscape, is among the formative locations of Europe’s security architecture. Nuremberg has established itself as a central meeting point for the international security and defense industry. The strong political backing and especially the continuous support from the Bavarian state government have significantly fostered this development.

Enforce Tac 2027 therefore covers the entire spectrum of security-related technologies and applications on around 80,000 m² of exhibition space in ten halls at the Nürnberg Exhibition Centre. New hall clusters create, according to the press release, integrated spaces for technological innovation, operational requirements, and strategic dialogue. Here, users meet developers, industry meets purchasers, and political decision-makers meet security-relevant future technologies.
With its access-restricted concept for members of the armed forces as well as authorities and organizations with police or military security tasks, Enforce Tac offers a protected framework for confidential conversations and professional exchange at the highest level. This clear orientation makes Enforce Tac what it is today: a central meeting point for those who actively shape security and defense capability in Germany and Europe.
