Keris Strike 26: American-Australian-Malaysian Exercise

Deep in the jungles and mountains of Malaysia, the United States Army’s Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center (JPMRC) demonstrated that the future of combat readiness is mobile, multinational, and exportable. During the Keris Strike 26 exercise, the JPMRC deployed its resources to validate a crucial strategic objective: the establishment of a permanent regional combat training center in Malaysia.

In this trilateral exercise involving the armed forces of the United States, Malaysia, and Australia, the Army’s ability to relocate the doctrine of its elite combat training centers directly into the Indo-Pacific region becomes evident. Lieutenant Colonel Joseph Palilo of the 196th Infantry Brigade, who served as the lead commander of the Task Force on site, emphasized that the JPMRC offers many of the capabilities provided by stationary facilities such as the National Training Center in California or the Joint Readiness Training Center in Louisiana.
