The arms group Czechoslovak Group (CSG) will be represented at the international defense trade fair “Międzynarodowy Salon Przemysłu Obronnego” (MSPO) from September 8 to 11 with numerous novelties. Alongside the 4×4 multi-purpose vehicle Tadeas from Tatra Defence and the armored mortar carrier 4×4 Patriot from Excalibur Army, the third generation of the heavy, tactical logistics vehicle 8×8 Tatra Force from Tatra Export will be featured.
Heavy, Tactical 8×8 Logistics Vehicle Tatra Force
The vehicle is shown as a flatbed truck with a completely new, extended four-door cab for a crew of up to six. This heavy tactical logistics vehicle is equipped with an updated, electronically controlled, air-cooled twelve-cylinder Tatra T3D-930 engine delivering 450 kW as well as an Allison automatic transmission (e.g., 4500SP). This enables a top speed of up to 100 km/h.
The new four-door cabin designed for military purposes features numerous safety elements as well as a modern interior with a digitized dashboard. The armored driver’s cabin provides ballistic protection as well as protection against mines and IEDs up to Level 3 according to STANAG 4569. Thanks to its low-profile design, the truck is suitable for transport in a C-130 Hercules. It can be equipped for self-protection of a weapon station and/or a smoke-screen system.
Tatra Force as a Weapon Platform
The vehicle’s permissible gross vehicle weight can reach up to 44 tons, with a payload of up to 25.5 tons. The vehicle is primarily intended for transporting containers and heavy cargo. Due to its rigid central backbone frame, the Tatra Force can also serve as a mobile platform for artillery, rocket, and air-defense systems.
